Myty Konkeror takes a meditative approach to rock. A three-piece from New Haven, CT and Brooklyn, NY, their sonic explorations came together while Kiefer and Steubs logged countless miles along the I-95 corridor to meet for rehearsal and writing sessions in an old Milford, CT auto body shop. Steubs came armed with his flying V and hypnotic riffs while Kiefer laid down beats in service to his grooves. Together they fleshed out the basic structures before expanding the songs with layered guitar loops that allowed Steubs to jam free over a repetitive polyrhythmic stew.
After recording their debut EP, The Excluded Middle, in their home studio in North Branford, CT, both members decided that loop pedals alone were not enough to help them achieve the sound they sought. So they brought lapsteel player Jon Schlesinger (No Line North) into the fold. Jon provided them with the colors missing from their sonic palette, filling in the spaces with blissed-out harmolodics. With his addition, the MK sound coalesced, and heads at local and regional shows began turning.
As a three-piece Myty Konkeror went on to record their first full-length album, I miss the future. An initial lathe-cut pressing sold out within months, and the album appeared up on several year-end Best Of... lists. These songs are looser and more expansive than their previous efforts, yet their distinct dissonance and hypnotic hooks remain.
The band continues to explore new sonic terrain, and a new collection of songs is in the works.

"First of all, the fact that so few people are going to own this album on vinyl is a damn shame, there’s an empty space in almost everyone’s collection for a record like this." Read more about OMGVinyl's take on I miss the future.
"MYTY KONKEROR'S new album I miss the future. is now available through Twin Lake Records. Despite having one of the worst band names I've ever come across, these guys rock, plain and simple. Psychedelic, indie, grunge, prog, and noise rock all run rampant through their full length debut." --ExplodingInSound.com
